I’m his unloved Luna, and he’s asking me to drink in the place of his lover.
"No, alpha, It's all my fault! I spilled wine on our esteemed guest, so I should drink it.”Zoe, the maid, Nathan’s lover, said to Nathan with watery eyes.
“Yeah, She offended me, and someone has to make amends to me, right?”Said alpha Issac, whose shirt is stained with red wine.
“Zoe is different, she is too young to drink such strong alcohol. “Nathan pulled Zoe into his arms and then said to alpha Issac.“Let our pack’s Luna apologize to you, she’s good at it.”
“Your husband asks you to drink instead of that maid? Interesting. Let’s see what you can do to apologize.”Issac raised his eyebrow.
I walked over, took the vodka from Isaac’s hand, and drank it in one gulp. The spicy drink made my stomach burn instantly. It hurt, but I could bear it.
"I didn’t expect Dark Moon Pack’s Luna to drink so well. But that’s not enough.”
Isaac poured another full glass of vodka.
I hesitated.
“Your husband said you’re good at it.”He smirked.
I’m not good at it at all. He just said that to protect his lover.
One full glass was my limit.
I would die of stomachache.
“Nathan, please. It wasn’t me who made a mistake and needs to apologize.”
I looked at Nathan, begging with my eyes. I couldn’t drink more, I might die.
Didn’t you see Alpha Isaac toasting you? Is this way idea of apologizing and showing hospitality? Hurry up and take it."
“It seems your husband doesn’t care about you at all.” Isaac gave me more glasses, and every one stared at me.
I had no choice but to drink it with my eyes closed. The stomach pain became severe.
"If your Luna doesn’t matter to you at all, Alpha Nathan, why not let her spend a lovely night with me? I’ll treat her well."Issac came closer and held my waist, pulled me close to him.
I struggled to push Isaac away, but Nathan seemed unbothered. He said indifferently. "She’s no fun at all, just a boring puppet at bed. But if it satisfies you, go ahead."
What? I’m stunned.
I felt dizzy and vaguely heard people around me gossiping that Nathan truly didn’t care about his Luna, as rumors said.
He was even okay with sending his own Luna to another man’s bed to save a maid.
“Behave yourself and do whatever necessary to make alpha Isaac happy. “Nathan said to me. He didn’t notice that I could barely stand, and he walked out with Zoe in his arms.
My stomach was in excruciating pain, cold sweat dripped down my face, and I knelt on the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
“Help…”I collapsed to the ground, barely breathing.
“Can someone please take me to hospital…”
But no one cared.
“Someone please help…”I managed to crawl to the front door and ask the driver to take me to the hospital before I passed out from the severe pain.
"Another one of these drunks bleeding out their own stupidity," the nurse sneered, not bothering to lower her voice. " "People like her just waste our beds. Should've left her on the street. Why do we waste resources on people who clearly want to die?"
When she noticed my eyes flutter open, her lips curled in disgust. "Oh good, you're finally up," she spat, crossing her arms. “Now drag yourself down to billing and pay up."
I bit down hard as I pushed myself up, knowing full well my pockets were empty.
I don’t have money to pay for the bills.
I had to called Nathan.
When I made the phone call, it was Zoe who picked up, all sweet and sugary. "Who's this?"
"It's Diana."
"Nate? Diana's calling..." I heard her call out, her voice going even sweeter.
Some footsteps, then Nathan's voice came through, sounding like he'd just rolled out of bed. "What do you want?"
Did they just finished doing it? Lucky me being passed out, or I'd have felt every bit of that mate bond pain.
"I'm in the hospital. Can you send someone to pay my bill?"
"Is it really urgent? You should go help Diana first..."Zoe asked with her sweet voice.
"Not leaving you. Nothing's more important than you."Nathan said to her and then turned to me. "Just call the Packhouse if you need money. You're Luna - they can't say no."
Then he hung up.
I should've known better. I smirked bitterly.
Then I called the Packhouse.
"Oh look who it is – the unwanted luna begging for handouts. Money? Please. You're nothing but Alpha's leftover mistake."
"But I just need-"
"Need what? Attention? Reality check? Let me spell it out for you – you’re just something the alpha picked up and tossed away. Want money so bad? Get Alpha's permission first. Oh wait - he's busy with his real mate."
I heard snickering in the background, then more voices chiming in: "Can't believe she even dared to call!" "Such a desperate little thing."
"Stop wasting our time," they sneered. "Nobody here's buying your Luna act anymore." The line went dead.
